Thanks To Your Support We've Done So Much
As 2024 comes to a close, we have much to be thankful for here at Columbia-Greene Habitat for Humanity.
In the last 12 months our community-supported construction teams did amazing work; completing two bright and spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom homes in Philmont that are now occupied by local families. We also began a full rehab of a 3-bed, 2-bath home in Valatie. Next, we took a major step toward building more homes in more places by expanding our service area to include Greene County. As Columbia-Greene Habitat for Humanity, we will be able to serve more families than ever.
Solving the housing crisis in our community takes innovation. This year we introduced an affordable and elegant new design, The Rural Starter Home Initiative, to provide more housing opportunities for middle-income residents. The first of these new homes is under construction in Niverville. In addition to home-building projects, Columbia-Greene Habitat is out in the community doing vital safety repairs through our Habitat Helping Hands program and at Hudson ReStore taking donations and offering high-quality furniture, building supplies and more for sale.
We’re proud of the progress we’ve made this year but we know that to make a lasting impact in our community we must continue to work together. Thankfully, we have the support of an amazing community that understands the benefits of safe, affordable housing in maintaining the character and vitality of Columbia and Greene Counties.
